Trying to change my IP but when i use the default user and pass it will not let me log into my router. Ive tried contacting my ISP and they are no help. No one has changed the password or anything. Let me know if you can help me (skype or teamviewer would be nice) Thanks

Why would you need to do this?

You can reset the device to factory defaults by holding the reset button on the back for 15-30 seconds.

For one, you can't change your external IP from your router. Two, your ISP has no control over your own router. And three, if you forget the password you will need to factory reset it.

You can change you external IP address by using the MAC address clone feature and changing the MAC. If you don't remember the password to the router do a reset. What router do you have?

I have an asus router, for some reason i can't change my mac address. (i don't know how)

What model is the Asus? I need to know that. You can enter the router's config now?

If you do manage to change the MAC address you need to then rest the modem. Not to be confused for the router.

Under advanced settings chose Wan. At the bottom there is a feature under special requirement from ISP called MAC address. I think you can hit the MAC clone button and that should input your current MAC address in the field. Change the last three groups to something else. A MAC address will look like this 01:23:45:67:89:AB.

So change the last three groups. In this case you would change the 67:89:AB. Remember that a MAC address has to be numbers 0-9 and A-F. So something like AF:B1:C3 would work.

The first three groups in the MAC address identify the type of hardware. After you do this hit apply and press the rest button on the modem. Not the router.
