I have adjust the tv resolution and aspect ratio as well as my computers but the programs, icons etc. seem a little too big. When I open some programs they seem liked they are zoomed a little too much. The display is very clear.

Could it be because it's not a monitor but a tv?
 
If you want to change the size of the icons, put your mouse pointer in desktop screen, press & hold the Ctrl key and use the mouse scroll wheel to adjust the icons to the size you want.

It's overall too.....programs , pictures etc. seem a little too big. I think it's because it not a monitor but a tv
 
TV's have a much lower pixel density, so if you have a 42" 1080p display, everything is going to be huge and blown up. If you try to decrease the size of icons and text, things will become unreadable due to the low PPI that most TV's have.
