LOL "Gaming Monitor"

Decided to look up the specs on my ancient Philips 170S that'll I'll be using for a couple weeks while I get my monitor situation resolved....

They call it a gaming monitor...

I guess that was fast back in the day considering most of today's high end gaming monitors have a response of 1-3ms :P
 
Lol, i feel the same way, im using an old Samsung 1280 x 1024p monitor too

Got a kickass VGA port, no HDMI, response time is 5ms tho, pretty standard

Somewhat scared to get a monitor tho, because im not sure my graphics card could handle it
 
I need to find a cheap 1080p monitor.. Nothing fancy but good enough to be ale to play FPS and Racing games on near max quality..
 
Well, LoL is all I play except for TF2, which also runs maxed out, a shame I cant do 16x antialiasing, only 4x gives me smooth gameplay

How much did that cost you? And I like motion blur in games, to a point.

I remember buying an 8400GS and thinking it was good gaming card simply because of the "higher" number philosophy. This was probably around the same time. I think it cost me 90 bucks from Best Buy. I remember before I had an FX 5200 that could play Guild Wars 1 and WoW on low settings in the nieghborhood of 20 fps or so but the 8400 couldn't even break 10fps on both games. Interestingly all my other games were way better with the 8400, just those two MMO's it couldn't deal with. Wonder if the fact I was using a craptastic Dell PSU had anything to do with it.

I don't think so.. I had a 8400GS (overclocked it 740/450) in my dimension 8300 and it ran most older games fine, but it was only the online games that had an issue.. 400 something watt PSU in it..

I'm well aware of that. Me at the age of 12 or so wasn't quite as smart about that. :P I was more just curious that it performed worse than the FX 5200, which was also a media card but a few generations older.
