The VCR King

Well-Known Member
Apple has been going through users' ipods and deleting non-itunes music (CD-rip, downloads from AmazonMP3, etc.)without our permission, and with my dumb luck, I was affected. The majority of my music is from CDs and other sources, and only like 200 songs of my 2000+ are iTunes purchases, so I have like NOTHING to listen to now. I called them and they restored the songs, but they've gone missing again, and I can not sync them in iTunes. It WILL NOT LET ME DO IT. Can they legally do this to us?:mad::mad:

Don't blame Apple for your incompetence.

I typically avoid Apple products but have minimal problems with iTunes and am even using it right now. It's fine.

Also your avatar is amusingly incorrect.

You're just an incompetent computer user. It's not Apple's fault, and it was only way back when that they did do what you say they did.

I support VCR king on this.. :/

Mostly because I don't like apple btw.

Strong reasoning from this one.

Losing files, specifically those that you ripped off a disc, have nothing to do with iTunes. Also it's not their fault you don't create a backup of your data, which is always a good idea.

I don't agree with Apple's design and marketing philosophy and don't use their products (mostly), but they are not the people to blame here.

Actually apple is known to delete your stuff... Which prooves any ones point they look at what you have and dif they don't likke what they see they delete it. Which if you look in their user agreement VCR king, they reserve the right to do that. None the less I don't like it.

They did. They don't anymore.

Mac Rumors said:
Between 2007 and 2009, Apple stealthily deleted content that iPod owners had downloaded from rival music services, reports The Wall Street Journal. The information came to light during an ongoing class action iPod lawsuit that Apple is fighting in court this week, where the Cupertino company is accused of having violated antitrust law by locking its original iPods to the iTunes ecosystem.

I was going to post that as well.

VCR King, they don't do this anymore, this was Steve Jobs doing several years ago.
Yeah, sure. How does this explain that when I try to sync the non-iTunes files that are DEFINITELY on my hard drive, it spits out an error because Apple blocked them?!
ITUNES IS RIGGED TO DO THIS!

I love how the alternative is a Zune... my car isn't working exactly to my liking, so I'm going to start taking the tricycle to work.

I'm pretty sure VCR King is trolling. Even if iTunes did delete them (which as said, ended several years ago), it would have been a stealthy delete. It a message that says "Apple has blocked this song".

In fact I can basically guarantee The VCR King is full of crap and for some reason thinks he can troll us. Doesn't it seem a little odd that VCR posts this now, after all the press Apple is getting for deleting songs several years ago? This has nothing to do with incompetence. He's just an idiotic troller.

Yeah I kinda agree. There's nothing wrong with a Zube over an iPod. Back in the day, they were really kinda better, being they had Wi-Fi to access the store on the go as well as an unlimited music subscription for like $100 a year.

Though the Zune store got shut down, so basically now they're the same as iPods with a prettier UI IMO.

Agreed. I'd still take a zune over an Ipod 5th gen any day.
