Good Deal?/warranty

Hi guys and gals,
I am looking for a laptop to by for someone. the Budget is $600-700 and I'm looking to get the most bang for their buck. I was looking on groupon and this cought my eye http://www.groupon.com/deals/gg-hp-envy-m7-k010dx-173-touchscreen-windows-laptop
Specs seem pretty good and at a decent price. The one thing I'm concerned about is that its refurbished, and the word refurbished can mean many things. What do you guys think?
The computer will be used by a Realtor.

What do you guys think? Is that a good deal or do you recommend something else in that price range? It would be great if it lasted a while.
Thanks

If you want best bang for buck you often get better deals by buying used. Generally speaking refurbished machines are fine.

Alright so the person who this computer is for likes the computer a lot but she doesn't like that it only has a 90 day warranty. She thinks that there must be something wrong with it if so many are refurbished and what happens if the warranty expires and then her computer breaks.
I told her that there are many reasons why there are refurbished machines and not necessarily a major problem with them.
Shes not very tech savvy so she likes long warranties so that customer support can help her when she needs something. I told her that if anything major was wrong with the computer she would notice it before 90 days were up and she could return it, otherwise the computer should last at least several years. Is that generally correct?

Shes pretty tight with money so if it broke and she had to pay another 100-200 dollars to repair it wouldn't be the best to say the least. It says manufacture refurbished so that's a good sign. Do any of you have any experience with refurbished machines? What is your advice?
Thanks

Never really had a problem when buying used stuff. Just make sure it comes from a trustworthy source and read the description before you buy and you're set.

But manufacturer refurbished usually means that they've been properly cleaned out and set up by the manufacturer or somebody who refurbishes and resells professionally. Not just slung on eBay like buying a used item from anybody might be.

And when you think about how many of these machines they produce and sell new, they sell very few refurbished.

Just keep in mind some companies won't honor warranties or anything like that if you're not the original purchaser. Sapphire's paperwork says they don't accept RMA's on cards not from the original purchaser, but I filed for one and got a replacement pretty quickly even though I bought the card used on Ebay (and even told Sapphire this and they didn't seem to care). It just kind of depends. Used typically is safe as long as it was treated well.
