I am trying to find a display port adapter that works, I have tried two. Neither of them worked. I have the ASUS VN247HP. It has two hdmi ports, and a vga. I tried connecting with a vga to display port adapter and hdmi to display port. Do the adapters not work or is there something I am missing. My computer has 2 dvi, hdmi, and a display port. I am currently using the hdmi and dvi ports. I would rather use the display port than the second dvi if possible.its a vga to dvi. Any help would be appreciated.

What is a display port? That term generally means, and encompasses all ports, VGA, HDMI and DVI. Are you saying you are using the VGA port?

If VGA isn't working on the monitor perhaps the monitor settings need to be changed to VGA.

Some display port adapters need to be "active" in order to feed the signal through. Are you trying to use 3 monitors? There is nothing wrong with using the second dvi port.

Display port is the new way of displaying video. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DisplayPort

These ports are on motherboards, video cards and monitors.
 
Yeah, I'm using three monitors, It's more for trying to figure it out when I connect a fourth monitor. I just wanted to get it figured out before hand.
