web browser problems

Hi guys

I'm having problems even browsing the Internet I have just re-formated my computer and everything went fine.

I believe that Internet Explorer 7 is installed which is old now but......

When I go on Google and click chrome is comes up saying aborting operation can't read page or something then closes but this happens on most sites to be honest so it is as good as unless

So I try to go on Microsoft to download a newer version and says the same thing I can't go on anything.

I got chrome on laptop from my other laptop installed it fine then I clicked to open it and it opens 2 windows then says occurred a problem and closes so can't even use it.

Help please
Thank you

The minimum system requirments for Chrome require a Intel Pentium 4 processor or newer.

Based on information in your signature:
The Sempron 3000+ is an older processor then the Pentium 4 leaving room for possible hardware incompatabilities.

Though for IE8, a pentium is recommended, the minimum processor requirment is 233MHz (really, really slow).

So unless your OS isn't supported, my guess is it's your hardware.

Okay that computer went along time ago my laptop is well within the requirements

Could it be anything todo with proxies?

Really you don't want a proxy set, usually malware will set a proxy and cause havoc. Go into internet options in control panel, click on connections tab, click lan settings, if anything under proxy server is checked, uncheck it. If it is let me know and we will run some malware scans.
