Hi All,
I am new to all this I have a very old emachine that is on its last legs and would like to build a good system. It will be required to stream online TV, and I would like to have a website on it too.
Here are the parts that I thought would good for the build:-
Intel i5 Core 4690 3.5Ghz 6MB Cache

Cooler Master RC430 + 500watt PSU

Socket 1150 Intel H81 DDR3 1600MHz ASUS H81M-PLUS HDMI & DVI Motherboard

1GB Nvidia GeForce 210 DVI,HDMI,VGA

RAM 2 x 4GB

Seagate 2TB Barracuda Sata 3.064MB
Please advise if this will be up to the task all comments gratefully received.
Regards
John

I would definitely take a look at a better graphics card. Nothing too serious because you're not trying to run any kind of gaming software at ultra settings, so I suppose I'd have to recommend this. It's not too expensive but it should get you what you need.

Asus Radeon HD 7770 2GB Video Card

Again, not the best, but good for what you need in my opinion.

If he was gaming I'd suggest something similar, but if he only wants to stream video the integrated GPU would be fine, and would save power.

I suppose. Integrated GPUs are getting better all the time, but I would only suggest a dedicated for a more comfortable ride and breathing room.

Edit: On second thought no you're absolutely right. If you just need to stream online and use a website, integrated is for you. Good point.

Yeah integrated GPU's are fine for HD video these days. If you don't game you don't need a dedicated GPU. Waste of money. Back in the day getting a GPU might take some load off the CPU and speed up the whole system a bit, even when not gaming, but these days processors are so powerful that's not really the case anymore.
