The Gigabyte GA-F2A58M-HD2 Micro ATX FM2+ Motherboard worth the buy? I don't know about motherbored's to much and would like advice.

Really wouldn't recommend that one. Would do either of these.

I use the bottom link all the time.

I'm going to go with the second one you recommend but I notices that is said "Some AMD A88X chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Kaveri CPUs" will this be a easy fix. Also so you know i'm going with the AMD Athlon X4 860K 3.7GHz Quad-Core Processor.

Yeah, you would need the F6 bios before being able to use that cpu. But any board you pick would most likely need a bios update. Any local computer repair shop could update the bios for you with a minimal fee of course.

Supported processor means a processor that currently installed bios will work with. Here is the supported processors for that board.

I just built one and gave it to the owner a little bit ago. I could have checked what bios revision is installed. Like I said, any board you would get will most likely need a bios update to support the Kaveri's.

I use the 5800k cpu for all my client builds.

I'm using the Athlon X4 860K which seems to be on the list? so is the list compatible or not compatible?

It's supported but you need to have bios version F6 installed before the board will officially work with it. You may get lucky and the board will boot with it but it may not.

John is there a way to pm you later in the future if i need to.

Discussion is what the forum is for. There are many knowledgeable members here that can help you if i'm not available at the time. I'm just on vacation this week.

Any way to post fast?

Posting many times just to get pm access would be considered spam and posts would be deleted anyway.

Any way thanks for the help/advice/information.

Your welcome.

I would say you got a good chance. The F6 bios came out at the end of may last year. Newegg goes through a lot of boards. Really depends on how popular the board is. If you get lucky, you might get the Rev. 3.1 of the board.

I call Gigabyte up and they told that if the first four digits match 1423 or higher it is compatible, but my question is do I need to first buy the motherbored to get the model number or is there a another way?
