Jumping Cursor Problem.

I am experiencing a jumping cursor issue, on my laptop. When writing anything, the cursor (most times) will jump into a higher position in whatever I might be writing. If I am not paying immediate attention to it, I am likely to find that an above sentence is being extended by what I had been typing in. I am doing nothing any different than I normally do, when typing, but that problem happens quite frequently. I want to begin writing a book, but can't tolerate this type of behavior.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this? If so, what was the reason for it - and how was it conquered?

if its a mouse pad and finger or wireless mouse and table top i just use
a glass cleaner wipe i use for glasses and wipe the bottom of the mouse, table or pad on the laptop. always fixed my problem. beside the bottom of a mouse for example if used i would wipe the laser head also. My problem sometime is because of whats mentioned for me and trying to locate on screen where the pointer is at on the screen.

thanks for responding.

My situation, however, has nothing to do with a mouse - or the surface that it might be on. I can just be typing something on my laptop's keyboard and, quite often, will find that my blinking 'position line' (maybe I shouldn't have called it the cursor) will jump to a higher place within the message, and begin inputing there.

Is the palm of your hand touching the touch pad at any time? This is usually the case when typing and the cursor moves.

You know what? I cannot say, for an absolute certainty, that something like that hasn't been the case. I hadn't thought of that, and I guess it IS a possibility. I will surely be more aware of that happening.

Thanks to you.
