How to move windows 8.1 from HDD to SSD?

Hello, I have purchased a desktop with windows 8 pre-installed on it and have been upgrading it here and there. I've recently bought an 240 gb SSD and i'm in the process of trying to move my version of windows onto it but i'm not sure how to go about this. Some help would be much appreciated.

You can clone it, but you'll get better results if you do a fresh install instead.

Same results if you clone it but remember that you SSD has to be the same size or larger then the HDD if you clone. You cannot clone from larger to smaller, will not work.

If same size I recommend clonezilla.
