Hello I am soon going to buy a desktop computer. I will be using it mainly for Youtube (uploading) and recording and video editing, so it needs to be fast! And be able to run multiple programs at once smoothly. My budget is $600-$700. I have two computers that look good and I would like them to be compared and just looked at because honestly I don't even know if they would be good for my tasks. So my main question is, which of these computers should I get, should I get another one instead, or should/could I build one? Thanks for all advice and info in advance.

For that price, the i7 is very nice. Keep in mind it doesn't include any screens or peripherals so that'll add on to your price..

The i7 build would be a bit faster for video encoding.

If you wanted to game on it though you'd be well off getting a better video card. The 720 isn't a gaming card really at all.

It would be faster just because of the processor? I thought the RAM had more to do with speed than the processor...

The i7 has HyperThreading, so you'll see something like a 20-30% improvement in heavily threaded environments like encoding.

RAM quantity doesn't really matter unless you don't have enough for your tasks. RAM speed makes a slight difference but you'll see much greater gains on the CPU end.

Ok but the 8GB Ram on the i7 comp would be enough for my tasks?

What would the difference be from the i7 to the i5? Signifcant difference? Even if i get 4gb more ram, if i were to choose computer 2?
