How old is my hard drive

Most of the drives have manufacturing date on the device.

I was hoping SMART had that kind of data but you could see things like 'power on hours' to give you a decent guess of the actual usage time as well.

Usually you can pop out a drive without 'tearing the computer apart'. It's a pretty quick removal to check.

Yes that's WD Cavlar Black and I have blue so I'll be buying the Black from now on. Black is the best then green and Blue is the cheapest.

You might want to revise that ordering. The EZEX drives also perform about the same as the 1 TB Blacks.
 
The EZEX drives are the Blue drives. The green drives run at a slower speed.
