Battery for Dell Inspiron n5110

I am in need of a new battery for my laptop, a Dell Inspiron n5110. The battery, I think, is dead. Or almost dead. I have to plug in my laptop just so I can use it as it won't turn on otherwise. It shows that it is charging but it's really not...holding steady at 1%. I know that's not good. My question is, should I buy the battery from Dell as my computer suggests? It'll cost me $124 and change and I want to make sure that I ...spend my money wisely.

I have seen the battery here--->www.batterymonster.com for a-lot cheaper but it is slightly different. 4400mAh instead of 48WHR. I don't think I trust this battery though...or the site.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.:)

It is a good battery, right? I mean, I don't have to get a battery that says Dell on it?
 
No, not really. But then again, you get what you pay for. Don't go too cheap on a battery. I've always got replacement batteries from here.

I have a couple of their retail stores near me, about an hour away. They guarantee that compatibility with your machine. They aren't cheap but they aren't as expensive as original OEM batteries.
 
I have one near me too. The battery there is more expensive than the one at amazon. I guess $39.00 is too cheap, huh?

The one you just directed me too looks good. Is MAH better than WHR? I'm not sure of the difference between the two. I did a little research but I couldn't get a clear answer. Sorry for being so dense about this.

They're just different units (similar to feet vs inches).

MAH = milliamps/hr
WHR = watts/hr
Watts = volts * amps

Amps are a function of watts, so they'll be correlated figures. Usually to convert between the two you'd do something like (mah=whr*1000/volts).

Okay, so, Newegg or Amazon? I only ask because you said "would buy the battery from a brand name...Newegg. Then you say Amazon it the cheaper alternative you'd use. So I am ...a bit confused. Amazon is just a tiny bit more expensive but I'm okay with that. I'm leaning towards the Amazon one myself.

Taking the advice I gave you yesterday, I would buy it from where you feel comfortable. Just don't go too cheap as you'll get what you pay for. Some of those cheap batteries won't even be recognized by the laptop.
 
Ack! I'm still torn between the two...Newegg and Amazon. But, like I said, I'm leaning towards Amazon. I can return it if it is no good. Do you get your money/credit back?

Right back on the card with free shipping back. I've only returned under a Prime membership but it should be the same either way.
