How to update drivers smoothly

Hello. I bought my computer a couple of days ago, and I got some driver CD's. The problem is I didn't buy a cd player. How do I make sure my computer drivers are up to date?

Don't use drivers on a disc. They'll be out of date. Go to the manufacturers website to download the latest drivers.

The drivers for your hardware in the computer will be on the MOBO site. If this is something else you could use another computer with a CD drive and copy the files to a USB stick.

You can also buy a USB CD drive.

But just go to the computer manufactures website for the drivers.

There are also programs that exist that will automatically detect all the drivers you have/need and keep them up to date. I used one a long time ago and I remember it worked well. The software I am talking about will download all the drivers you need at the same time and manage the installations for you, and most of them are at least free to try. Just search "driver software" on google.

Not a good idea. Most of the programs listed will also install malware along side of it and he will end up with a mess to get rid of.

I really wouldn't worry about updating drivers unless you are having issues with something.

The one I used didn't. It was a software that you needed to pay for (I forgot how much it was) and I was on a 30 day trial. I only used it once to update everything and then got rid of it. But it worked fine and didn't install anything else. Maybe the totally free ones are the ones that install Malware.
