.apk harmful?

So BitDefender found this fmpro .apk file and it can't be deleted apparently.

I'm only running an anti-virus until LG allows for the Marshmallow update.

Thoughts on removal? First Android device.. and with this whole "stagefright" scare...

Apps don't have the ability to make changes to your MicroSD card, so if this was downloaded to your external storage that's why the AV software couldn't remove it.

This isn't related to Stagefright either, that's a bug with MMS and involves receiving an improper MMS message to exploit the bug.

Just to piggyback off of this, is AV for an Android device really needed? I've never used one and don't know really anything about viruses on that OS.

IMO, no it is not. As long as you are diligent about only installing apps from the play store that have good reviews and aren't from sketchy companies, you'll be fine.

About the answer I expected, thanks.
