boot MGR is missing

I formatted a partition and volume on my hard drive and now every time I try to get into my laptop I get this screen that says boot MGR is missing press Control Alt Delete to restart I only have a Windows operating system on a flash drive so I can't use a CD repair this to get into the windows to repair it plus the boot manager is messed up so I don't see how I can boot into anything at all I can't even get into the BIOS menu for boot menu
 
I don't get it. You are booting primarily from a USB stick? Not the HDD? The boot manager may have been on the HDD. I can help, but I need a clearer explanation.
 
the the boot manager was on the hard drive but the thing is I completely over the master boot record and everything else on the hard drive its all gone I have a copy of Linux and Windows on two separate flash drive but I don't understand why I can't get into the BIOS or the boot menu I don't understand why the BIOS menu and on the boot menu won't come up when I never corrupted the BIOS chip it wasn't edited I don't think I added the chips that all I did was mess with the hard drive and the hard drive really has nothing to do with the boot process before the BIOS

there's no password on the hard drive I don't think I can get the hard drive removed right now but have you had any experience with this issue you know if this will work for certain issues

I just don't understand how a boot manager in the hard drive can affect me getting into the BIOS doesn't the BIOS menu load before the CPU communicates with the hard drive
 
Yes, but who know how BIOS interacts with the hard drive. I have had my laptop's BIOS act funny when I changed an option for the HDD in BIOS. The BIOS would take forever to load.

Wait, Boot manager is missiing means you didn't get into BIOS at all! Keep pressing F2, Delete or the key to get into BIOS right away when you press power.

f to delete or the key I don't understand what you mean by that you're the are you listing different keys or a combination of keys

and I don't understand how I couldn't get into the BIOS at all I always assumed that if you had no internal hard drive you could always boot into your computer using an external flash drive with a live operating system on it isn't that true
 
1) Boot manager missing means the computer is trying to boot from your formatted HDD. Which means you never got into BIOS at all.

2) F2 is the F2 key on the keyboard. Delete is the Delete key on the keyboard.

3) When your computer boots there should be a message that says press F2 or delete to enter BIOS. Or F12 for some BIOS's to enter boot mode (for lack of the right term right now. It's off the top of my head) Boot mode would allow you to select from the CD drive, HDD, PXE, USB, etc.
 
Which partition did you format on your HDD? You probably wiped out your boot manager. As long as that's just the case, we can fix that. If you formatted your entire HDD and wiped the OS, then you need to start from scratch.

What OS are you running? You just need to rebuild the boot mgr, which will take almost no time at all.
 
You can still use "CD repair" off of the bootable USB windows installation stick, assuming you didn't goof and erase your OS partition..
