Hello,
This is the question my teacher posted: List the three most popular GUIs used in the two operating systems (Windows 7 and Fedora 13) we are studying and the major differences and how they are similar.
I have emailed the instructor and haven't heard back in 24 hours and my other classmates seem confused as well. So I figured maybe someone here could shed some light.
Firstly, is he asking about GUIs as in Operating Systems? Would the three most popular versions be 7, 8 and XP? How would I find the most popular Linuxes? Is he asking about desktop environments? Kernels? Shells? This is where I have started my paper but I have become overwhelmed. There does not seem to be much information about the popularity of Linux. Right now I have listed Unbantu's Unity, Mint's Cinnamon and KDE Plasma as the three most popular, but are they?
Or is does he mean it in a strict GUI sense in which case for Windows 7 would that be Windows Manager, excel, ect? What would be the most popular GUIs in this case?
Anything you can add or chime in with would be appreciated.
