I turned on my laptop after a couple weeks and all of a sudden I am not getting any screen output on the screen. Just stays completely black.

Whats even more weird is that when an external monitor is plugged in nothing still comes up.

Any ideas?

Yes. WHen its just plug in 2 white lights are on. Looks like its a battery light and a light for it being plugged in.

When I turn the laptop on a white light in the middle of the 2 turn on and looks like its the power symbol light. Circle with line through the top of it.

All of them are solid white lights. No other lights present.

Usually an HDD activity light will flicker while its booting up. However, I have seen a bad hard drive cause a machine not to turn on and boot up. Try removing the drive and see if anything changes. Also, see if you have access to the cmos battery, if so, unhook it while power is removed and wait 10 minutes and then reconnect it.

I did what u said.

Removes the hard drive and still nothing. Also had to disassemble whole laptop to remove cmos battery but i did and waited. Went ahead and reassembled it all. And turnes back on. Still nothing. Still only the 3 lights.

Now as i was looking up the website here to reply to you i noticed the 4th light came on which is the hard drive light. But it only came on for a fewseconds and that was it.

Im stumped on this one to be honest

Can you see anything at extreme angles on the panel under a bright light? Did you use the external monitor hotkey when testing with the external display?

Just trying to rule out some other factors, if it failed to POST or similar ("being completely dead") then you shouldn't see any HDD activity or anything.

Unplug the power cable. Remove the battery. Hold down the power on button for 10 seconds. Replace battery. Insert power cable. Try again.

I cant see anything on the screen at all. Not sure what the hotkey is but Ive always used an external monitor on this laptop and usually i just plug it in and the display comes up.
DIfference this time is my monitor when not plugged into a computer has an orange light on it, i guess indicating its in stand by mode, but when plugged into a computer and actually being used will turn on a blue light on the monitor. When i plug it into the computer now, it just stays orange.

I tried this and still nothing =\

I would suggest you have a faulty video card in the machine or a damaged cable connecting the laptop base to the screen. Probably the first since it doesn't work on another monitor as you said.

Is there anyway to test the video card? is it replaceable? I thought it had onboard video?
Usually on laptops it's integrated into the motherboard itself.

You could find a comparable board, but between the cost of the parts and labor of fixing everything you might as well just buy a new one.
