build me a gaming pc $1000

Ive been out of the loop for a few years, i have NO idea whats good hardware and what isnt anymore. I already have peripherals, full tower case, and a monitor. Its currently water cooled but i may stick with air for now. So basically $1000 to spend for OS and the guts... whatcha got?

What peripherals do you have exactly? $1000 is a pretty good budget and with some of the new stuff out I'm sure we can make you something nice!

I got a monitor, case, disk drives keyboard and mouse of course. Lol... yea mainly gaming, but im sure ill get back into overcloxking and might go ahead and get a waterblock since im already watercooled

Here's a build I did for you, excluding everything you said you already had, and it came up just under $1000. I'm sure this will be able to handle pretty much anything you throw at it.

Would be a nice system, but a shame its slowed by a HDD.
If he has drives already maybe we can drop the HDD and use the rest of the budget to get an SSD, now that would reduce his loading times

Good point! Maybe with the amount I had left, a 120gb may fit within the budget, thanks for the tip!

He can afford a Sandisk SSD PLUS 240GB on his budget if we drop the HDD, ok its not fastest ssd, but when compared to HDD's its damn fast. I have the same ssd but the 120gb and I wouldn't recommend it as they fill up so fast, especially as a boot drive.

Ah okay, as long as it's faster than an HDD I guess that's what matters. Maybe in the future he can upgrade to an EVO maybe and add a HDD for mass storage.
