Upgrading to Microsoft Office 2016

Are future licenses of Microsoft Office beyond 2013 for only a limited time use? I notice some newer versions of Microsoft Office only give you a two or three year use and then the license expires.

I've skipped on the upgrade so far. I was the first to upgrade in my office to do field testing and had issues opening documents off SharePoint. It would error out saying the document was corrupt, even though everyone on Office 2013 could open them fine.

I also had upgraded the office manager to Office 2016. She was unable to open her delegated mailboxes in outlook.

Having implemented Office 365 and SharePoint 2013 across a company of over 60,000 people I know first hand that there is issues... known issues.

I'm not using an Office 365 subscription if that's what you're trying to get at.

Whichever way you want to cut it, Office 2016 has issues with SharePoint 2013 which is a widely known issue.

He talked about upgrading and I responded. If you don't think it applies to the conversation, that's up to you.
