Hello my name is Kevin - Thanks for any advise!
I am considering getting a new computer over the holiday shopping season. I currently have:
HP Pavilion 17-e055nr 17-Inch Laptop (2.1 GHz AMD A8 5550M Processor, 8GB RAM, 500GB Hard Drive, Windows 8).
I have had this comp for 2 years with absolutely no problems. I am just looking to improve on performance. I am looking to spend under $1000 – preferable $750 or even less if at all possible.
I do not want a 17’’ display – I want a 15” would even consider 14”. My concern is – Will I be able to get a considerably noticeable difference in speed & performance for under $1000.
My needs are pretty basic – I do not game – I do not record video or music or have a need for much storage. I do often like to keep multiple tabs open of site pages and documents. For the most part I just want something that zips around quicker than what I have now, from web site to web site and doc to doc. I do use wifi spots a lot – ie Starbucks - so I know I am limited to the speed that each wifi spot has – but still want a quicker piece of equipment. I am also considering a solid state drive? Hopefully I have given enough info here to get a discussion started.
Thank you again for any help.
