But in a previous post, you said you didn't know what ram you needed.... So either you do or you don't know what exact ram you need whether its ddr1 or ddr2 and what speed.

You think? So how are you getting prices when you aren't even sure what you need? Get the actual type of memory you need and then look. If you have DDR1 and you only have 2 memory slots, its not worth having windows 7 as it will be slow as heck. You will need a new machine. I have ddr1,i didn't check how many slots i have and trust me computer is old that everything is slow as heck also i just change from apperance to performance and it works perfectly fine.And i am thinking about getting a new computer and monitor but if it goes too expensive i won't.
