Looking to purchase a newer monitor to go along with new 980 and upgrades to the rig.

My current Asus is good.. but I'm thinking a newer 4K panel.. or should I stay at 1920x1080?

At 4K, do you have to use Display Port?

You have any personal experience with 144Hz screens out of curiosity? I always hear 144Hz screens are good, but how much perceptible difference is there? I feel like after a while it's pretty arbitrary. Although I used to think 30 FPS was super smooth and never noticed any difference above that. Now I notice it when my frames drop under 50 and under 40 is getting into the unplayable territory in my book.
