GeForce gtx 960 just bought, problems....

Hello one and all, I have just bought a graphics card, I've installed it up to the point of the power cables, disaster I can't see where they plug to the power supply! Any help would be much appreciated

Sorry bud, if its anything like this, you're going to need a new one. The PSU is garbage and will probably kill your pc with a 960.

You need something like this - as minimum.

Dont be confused by the wattage, its the 12V rail amperage that is important, and no, you cannot just add them up on your PSU. Even though your PSU is 500W, thats peak and can only provide around 18A on the 12V rail. The one i linked is also 500W but can provide 40A continuously.

Sorry mate. Just spend some extra few quid, sell the old one and some other old stuff and you have a nice PSU that will comfortably power your system.

Another idea to get you going in the meantime, do you have a spare PSU - even a crappy one??

Ok, well don't risk running it underpowered mate. Get down to the local computer shop and get yourself a PSU.

Failing that , these guys are at the Matford Market in Exeter on Sunday mornings. Give them a call and arrange to pick up a PSU. 01392 879003
