Another day another problem

Hello everyone, and thank you in advance. I've got a new computer, I installed Windows 7 32 bit at first but didn't look at the difference between the two operating systems, anyways I have 16gb of ram the 32 version can't recognise it or something so I was advised to go to 64 bit. Anyways after doing that the computer is running painfully slow, taking ages for any install. Is there an easy fix for this?

Did you do the same procedure for 64 bit as you did for 32 bit? (wipe drive, boot from installation media, complete fresh install) ?

I'm trying to 're install the motherboard, but when I click the disk in safe mode I get a error message = open driver handle failure
None of this makes any sense.

I clicked the option to wipe all data and install the 64 bit version, when I was installing the motherboard I realised I'd left the speakers and Mic plugged in so I unplugged then soon after got a message saying something didn't install properly, I can't see the gigabyte bit in my start menu so I'm guessing it was the motherboard...but I've no clue how to redo it

Now trying to reinstall Windows..... there's a message saying Windows can't be installed on partition disk 2..details the disk selected has an mbr partition table. On efi systems, Windows can only be installed on got disks

Boot to the install DVD, begin the installation and when it shows you the partitions, click Advanced and delete all the partitions on the list until you just have un-allocated disk space. Then select that and click next.

Yes correct, sorry I'm not very clear, reinstalled Windows, motherboard etc all seems to be working fine now, just a new Windows product key problem to.solve! Like a moron I have the key for Windows professional, but installed windows home premium, of course the keys don't add up, I'm not going through the whole reinstall again so I'm hoping I can find somewhere to buy a new key from and get it emailed tonight, the search continues
