Hey guys.
My dad's computer is a Seanix and has a Core 2 Duo E4500 in it (800mhz fsb, 65w, socket 775).
I bought a Pentium E5800 (800mhz fsb, 65w, socket 775) and put it in.
When it tried to boot, nothing showed up on the screen. I put the old cpu in again and it booted fine.
What am I doing wrong?

Any input is appreciated.
Thanks.

Most likely that computer doesn't support the processor. Is there a model number listed on the motherboard or pc model number?

Just realized it's never had a bios update. Updating bios now... and the board does support it. It's the DG31PR

Bios update worked! CPU working great AND the bios update allowed me to add 2gb ram without disabling sound... which is what it did before.
