I need help buying a gaming laptop

So i really don't know that much about gaming laptops (i mean which company is better and what price is good) and i was thinking of buying this one.

If you think it's not good and have a better suggestion then i would love to hear it, I can afford a computer up to 1500$.

Alienware's are way overpriced. Why don't you build a gaming desktop pc as it will be much better gaming then a laptop.
 
The notebook in @Laquer Head's signature above is a good gaming-grade machine. I don't know what your budget is but it looks like it's about $1,500. Maybe see what MSI have in your price range. You could look at the Razer Blade too. The Alienware you've found looks quite good actually but you'll be paying a premium if you want a gaming laptop with those kind of specs. They don't come cheaply from any brand to be honest and people like Dell, Lenovo and HP may be cheaper but they don't tend to put stuff like 970Ms or 980Ms into their laptops so you have to turn to more bespoke gaming laptop manufacturers if you want higher-end hardware, who will charge more.

A gaming desktop is a far cheaper option. $1,500 will build you a great gaming desktop with a lot of change to spare!

Yes, totally agree.. depending on budget.. an MSI, Asus, or Razer gaming oriented machine would be a better choice.

As @spirit said, a desktop is waaaay cheaper any day of the week over a laptop.

Yah, I definitely recommend it, assuming its what you need for your own usage. I spent a while looking for one that had the NVME capable SSD, cause it's something I wanted.

To be honest, while this laptop has a 970 gtx, I don't use it for gaming, it just happened to have it and for the odd time the kids want to play games, while travelling..etc..they can do that.

Also, I'm not sure if MSI is worse then others for having a billion different models, with what seems is little to no spec difference..minus the model number.

If you go with MSI, I'd look at their website too and compare the specs listed--in my case, not very many have the NVME SSD... it might say SSD, but most were the normal 2.5" SATA..or some hybrid crap.
