OS Installation On New Drive

Hello Everyone...

My problem is this....I installed a new hard drive in My Hp Compaq presario CQ5320f
I dont have recovery disks so i bought a windows 7 operating disk dvd and a drivers dvd also.
When i run the disk i get a message saying No device driver were found. I have tried and tried to get past this error and can't.....I used diskpart and when input list disk it says no disks were found.

Does anyone here have an idea whats going on ?

Are you sure ur hard drive cables are plugged good? and, i would try booting off a usb stick, make sure your drivers are install, too.

You'll probably have to slipstream/vlite the drivers onto the W7 install disk:

Yes. I checked to make sure the cables were plugged in correctly.

No, i can't do that because as beers said the OS is not installed...Thats the problem.

Boot of the stick, and than install drivers

Go into the bios and verify the sata controller setting is ahci and not raid. Windows 7 shouldn't have any issue installing to any drive providing the controller isn't set to raid. Also verify the drive is recognized in the bios. May be a bad drive.

The hard drive is visible on Bios...No i dont know if there are sata controller settings on my Bios. Have never seen them before but will check again.
