Can anyone recommend a capture card?

After I get a new PSU put into my PC, I plan to get a decent capture card to record gaming videos. Right now I use Bandicam and it puts a lot of stress on my CPU when I record in-game with it, plus it only allows you to record ten minutes at a time. I'd prefer the card to be relatively cheap, and it doesn't have to record in HD, but I'd prefer no lower than 480p recording. What card would you guys recommend? :)

Something from Sony? USB is an option. This is for console?
No, not for console. This is to record from my PC. Lol right now I have my phone propped up in front of my screen and I use that to record the screen but the quality is horrible and I want a cheap but decent capture card to do it right.

Software is a better approach than a capture card as you're not capturing an external stream.

Even with a capture card your CPU will be doing the same amount of work or more to process/encode the capture stream.

Wow, just wow! You have been recording video on a smartphone or a capture card with a computer game?! LOL! It's why I asked if this was console. That would have made sense.

Yeah, use Fraps or something else. You need a software solution, not a hardware solution. But Fraps WILL produce very large files. So make sure your HDD is large and I would use Freemake to convert to MP4. This will all take time depending on how long your video is.

Check out Nvidia ShadowPlay, much less resource intensive than software like FRAPS.
Somebody mentioned this to me. I will have a look at it and see what it's like! :D

@The VCR King: REMINDER: you need a computer that works before you can record game footage to YouTube with it - i.e. you need to buy a power supply, not capture cards or software. ;)

The AMD Gaming Evolved app that comes with drivers has a game recording software. No idea how well it works, but it's there. You can also use MSI Afterburner. Even Windows 10 has a built in recorder IIRC.

Wait... Are you uploading gaming videos to YouTube recorded via a cell phone?

Are you not?!

LOL I use Bandicam now but before I would prop my cell phone up in front of my screen and record with that then upload it.
Honest question - why do you think people want to watch you play PC games recorded on a cell phone with crap video and even worse audio?

The LCD flicker and audio would drive me insane!

But I don't know, maybe he's just into video editing stuff which is fair enough. I did the same kind of thing at one point (years and years ago) lol. :D But it would be better to use a screen recorder.
