Display Port to DVI/HDMI/VGA

In every new video card i see Display Ports. Currently my video card or monitors do not have any display ports. So i have no clue about it. I haven't seen too many monitors with display ports. But shopping for a new video card most of them have many display port plugs.

So my question is:

Is anyone running a Display Port to either DVI/HDMI/VGA

Are any of these 3 settings this possible?

Display Port to DVI
Display Port to HDMI
Display Port to VGA


Is anyone successfully using any of these settings with simply buying a cable?

Yes. I only looked at led screens under 150$ anything over that is out of my price range.

So display-port to hdmi is possible, as you say

i tried today, display-port to dvi, and it worked,

so only display-port to vga, i haven't tried that one,

i found some cords online, so i'm guessing it's also possible, great!

all my monitors are between 8 to 10 years old, all have vga and some dvi,

they are still working after all these years, so i haven't had a reason to replace them

and i hope they work for many more years, monitors are expensive

I get what your saying about them, if they work..they work..

However, monitors are very affordable compared to say when you bought those ones you currently have.

You can get a 24" Asus 1080p, 1ms panel for $160 to your door
