Technical questions about a monitor

Hello lovely people.
I have ordered the Nvidia gtx 980ti, and I am currently trying my best to find a suitable monitor for it. I have got to find one monitor that caught my eye: Acer XG270HU.

Now, it says it offers amd FREESYNC, which seems relatively appealing. My question is simple: is amd FREESYNC technology only suitable for amd graphics cards? Does the monitor even fit the 980ti?

Also if you have any other suggestions for a good 1440p monitor for the mentioned gpu, please make sure to post them.

What size monitor and budget are you looking at?

I dont have the TI, just the regular 980, but I did grab a 4K monitor from Asus, I'm sure your new TI would look stellar with it.. Asus PB287Q

My issue was that I wasn't sure wheter amd freesync is limited to amd graphics cards.
Eventually I realised that it is indeed amd graphics card exclusive

I think the VESA standard adopted FreeSync.

If you want nVidia specifcs then look for G-Sync.
