Can not delete

I have a problem with deleting in my Windows live mail. I have let things go miles too far and have 3400 e-mails in the delete file. Every time I try to delete them a little window pops up saying "An unknown error has occurred", I click OK and nothing changes. I am sure there is a simple solution but my old brain needs some help.

Try deleting them in groups instead of the whole folder.

OK I did think about that, but how do I brake them down into groups.
I use Ctrl / A to highlight the whole lot but, not sure about grouping.

Either do that, or click one of them, scroll down a bit, hold down shift. and click on another message. That will select several of them at once.

Thanks mate, problem solved.
Now another hassle. I joined Netflix a couple of weeks ago and can get everything on our 2 desktop screens but don't know how to get it on our TV. I have installed a HDMI cable from my computer box, to one of the HDMI sockets on the back of the TV, and have taken the middle plan in Aust of $11.99 which allows 2 places to view. What do I need to do to view it on my TV. Netflix are completely unhelpful with no e-mail contact service, and I have wrung the 1800 phone No about 6 times and always get a different person, and none of them can help me....HELP.

Likely because it isn't a Netflix specific issue.

Had you selected the appropriate input on the TV? What computer box are you using? On a desktop or similar it should be auto detected but on some laptops you need to tell the PC to mirror the screen out to the external display using WindowsKey + P.
