Net cuts out during Online gaming only.

Ive checked with my ISP and its not their fault for my connection problems . I get Wifi connection still and they show that I am receiving connection. I updated my Realtek LAN driver for my MOBO, ive switched the ends of my LAN cable, Im not running anything in the background while im online playing. Im just short of buying a new modem/router combo. What else can i check to fix my intermittent connection ?

Also to add, I plugged my ethernet cable into my laptop and it works fine, nothing wrong with the cable. I plugged in my netgear wireless thumb drive and my PC is working fine.

Why cant my PC use the LAN CABLE ?!?!?!?

Is it cutting out using wireless? Your post is confusing. You say you plug in ethernet cable and netgear wireless adapter and you say its fine, but then you say why can't you use lan cable. Lan cable is your ethernet cable. I'm assuming its cutting out while using the laptop's wireless card. If that's the case it either could be overheating and needs to cool down before reconnecting again or you could possibly try updating the wireless driver. If everything works using your usb wireless then your router is fine.

That's likely to still be determined, 99.99999999999999999% of the time they will just blame your local equipment.

If you're talking about just reversing the cable, that doesn't do anything.

What is your definition of fine? What did you look at to verify 'fine'? It might 'work' but if it's negotiating to 10 mbit then there could be a different issue.

Can you game on your laptop too? My motherboard's NIC did similar behavior when it was dying, pages and similar would load OK but if you pushed a lot of small packets through it, it'd keel over and shite itself. Any chance of testing with another wired NIC in your PC, since you indicated you don't see the same behavior with a separate wireless adapter?

Never believe what the ISP tells you. They are never, ever, ever gonna admit they failed to provide - it is always someone else, something else, but I'm sure if you just upgrade your package and sign a new contract things will improve!

Again, never believe the ISP that its not possibly their fault

Im sorry about my vagueness. My PC I use ethernet LAN cable to connect to the internet. I wanted to test if the ethernet cable was faulty so I plugged it into my laptop and it showed it had a stable connection. But when I plug it back into my PC after my 5 mins on the web, the icon at the bottom right of the screen shows the yellow triangle with and exclamation point on it.

My ISP is Time Warner Cable, not sure what you mean by Wireless ISP. I do connect my PC by ethernet cable. In terms of what do I currently use, do you mean what kind of cable do I use to connect to the web ?

My definition of fine when connecting my laptop to the web is that it shows good signal strength when I checked it on speedtest.net, I got my 60Mbps download and 10 mbps upload.

I cannot game on my laptop :/ .My motherboard for my PC is about 4 months new. I think ill try going down the route of getting a PCI NIC.

But everything works fine like i checked it on different laptops within the house, It only fails when i hook my PC up to the ethernet.

Ooooooooooooooooooooh, uhmmmm hmmm didnt think about that . But its already in the packaging phase of Newegg. But its only 9 bucks so If i need to return it, theyre only 10 miles away from me. But what is the main difference between PCIe and PCI verion of the card. Faster responses ?
 
PCI is more of a legacy bus, max 133 MB/sec half duplex, shared between all slots.

PCI-E is full duplex, a 1x PCIE 2.0 lane offers 500 MB/sec dedicated bandwidth bidirectionally to the card on the backend.

For your uses you likely won't notice a difference, the main benefit is dedicated bandwidth and full duplex. Gigabit maxes out at 125 MB/sec on the Ethernet side.
 
If you can still cancel it, sure. If not, I'd just keep the PCI card. It'll probably cost you like $9 for shipping to return it anyways.
 
Okay, so today I installed the new PCI LAN card, and everything is working good. So I guess I was right that my Onboard Ethernet port has pooped out on me "/. Thanks for your guys help !
 
ITS HAPPENING AGAIN ! Everytime i get on Overwatch, 5 mins later I lose connection. LIKE WTF ?! what is going on !

When you lose connection, try doing something else on the computer like going to a website. See if you are losing connection for a while or if it's just a brief interruption that's causing the game to disconnect. Another test could be to open command prompt, type in "ping 8.8.8.8 -t" and let it run while you game, once you lose connection, minimize the game and see if the ping had any time outs or drops.
