Hi, i want a headset / headphones for gaming. I need it for CSGO. I want for headset / headphones this: surround sound ( i mean with this, when i playing CSGO and someone be behind me etc. i want hear him), i no really need microphone, type of headset / headphones must be circumaural, good sound quality. I think the headset is overpriced. I was watching on some review headphones and everyone talking about Audio-technica m20x, m30x, m40x and m50x. I never had this headphones and i really like skins and removeable cable on m40x and m50x. When i was watching on headsets i find HyperX II, Razer Kraken ( everyone talking this headset is tightly), Steelseries siberia 200 and v2. Write me your feeling about my "choose". If you have better headset / headphones send me link on this :)

I really appreciated every answer.
Have a nice day :)

PS: Sorry for my english. I from Czech Republic. I wrote on Czech forums too, but then dont help me much. :)

The ones I'm looking at buying are the Logitech G633 ($100 USD) or Logitech G430 ($55 USD)

Not sure what the price in crowns is after exchange.

I use Turtlebeach X12's right now and they feel nice, but are not surround sound.

Surround is overrated. Any "gaming" branded headphones are overpriced.

This is what is achievable without surround.

Latter portion is most definitely true but surround can change the sound profiling in a game like CS:GO.

If you have a mic already, definitely go with something like Audio-Technica since they are made pretty well and sound great.

Intel_man is basically noting that the general population doesn't need to pay extra for surround, since stereo works fine (My X12's are stereo, and I can hear behind me in CS:GO, they just aren't comfortable hours-on-end)

You´re right, i hear surround sound without it. So i thinking about ATH-M40x and HyperX Cloud 2. If i buy M40x i want buy it on Amazon, becauce on Amazon i pay 95$ and in Czech i pay 145$. But im still not 100% sure. I wil stilll wait for another aswers from people. If you find better headset / headphones than M40x or HyperX Cloud 2 tell me :)

Generally speaking headphones will always offer better sound quality at a given price point over a headset or gaming headset. I have my ATH M50's coupled with a webcam mic and it sounds miles ahead of other headsets I've heard that would have costed similar. Especially if you don't need a mic I would advise some straight good headphones as the "gaming headsets" are more marketing and gimmicky for the price.

A $10 desktop boom mic is all you really need + whatever you want as a over-ear headphones. m50x is great. m40x is alright.

You can always find deals on massdrop if you have the patience to wait for the product or wait for the product to be available as a drop.

I already had my webcam mic and it's decent webcam so I never felt the need to upgrade it. I have a friend with a boom mic and it makes so much noise whenever he adjusts the angle on it. It also was probably 2 bucks judging by the looks of it. :p

It's still better than whatever is on a "gaming" headset.

I had dollar store boom mic for the longest time until recently when I switched to a CAD u37 setup. Great microphone.

Massdrop is a website for "bulk buying". Most items on that website are voted on by the members there, and usually when an item is available for a "drop", they usually have 3 tiers of pricing. Initially, it'll be higher, but the price will go down depending on the amount of people who are willing to "commit to buy" at the lowest price listed. The "drops" are usually 7-14 days long for people to decide if they want to participate in the "bulk buy" and once the drop ends, Massdrop will then contact the manufacturer of the product in question, and place an order for the item. The item usually takes awhile to get here due to a large order and being that the item has to ship to a Massdrop warehouse to repackage for redistribution to all people who purchased it on the website.

I used that mic to record a few drum covers a few years back. Then I gave it to my girlfriend that needed to record a clarinet tryout. Haven't seen it since, and haven't seen her in a year and a half. Probably shouldn't hit her up to get that back...

It's only like $40~ on amazon. I'd just get another one so you can avoid the awkwardness. :D

I would if I ever needed another mic. She can keep it though, she probably made better use of it than I did, even if she was nuts.
