I didn't realize I hadn't mentioned in the OP, I'm running XP right now.
I have a few compatibility issues being on XP still, but nothing major. My main motivation for the update is the prospect of my FF situation improving, but I'm assuming that if I have memory problems running it on XP it can only get worse on 10, right?
It exceeds the minimum specs.
How often does your Firefox issue happen? Do you just have a shitload of tabs open or? Sounds like there might be another issue in there.
I always have my computer on the whole day, turn it on in the morning and off before bed, the FF issue almost always happens somewhere during the day. Sometimes I can get through the day with it still being able to save the session at the end.
It reports an error when I try to save a session, sometimes it says out of memory, sometimes something else. Sometimes I can save my self by going to about:memory and doing a cleanup and it manages to free up enough to make a save, but often not.
Right now I'm hovering around 100 tabs, give or take 10 at various times.
I have the latest version of FF and I have session manager installed.
Is it not normal for that to be happening given my tab count and specs?
I agree. I have run FF on much less capable machines and never encountered issues with FF running out of memory. I think you should explore a fix for that BEFORE attempting to upgrade to Win 10.
BTW, do you realize that the free upgrade to Win 10 period is over? It could cost you some $$$ to upgrade at this time.
Oh, I'm not even on 7, I'm on XP.
That will run 10 decently. Just upgraded a clients pc to 10 with this specs and it ran great. I would suspect you have an issue with Firefox though. Also would do a clean install of 10 and not just upgrade from 7. Any issues with 7 will just transfer to 10.
Interesting that you also say you think its a FF issue, but wonder what you guys will say to 100 tabs

, is that a lot for these specs?
