Home Office Set Up (Laptop)

Hi All - Looking for recommendations and advise on what type of laptop to purchase for my home office. Here are some key factors;

  1. I prefer larger screen - 15.6
  2. Adequate Storage is a requirement as i will be using this to download and review alot of blueprints.
  3. It will be my only home office computer so may need to run quickbooks, Bluebeam, AutoCad etc.
  4. Will be unhooking and bringing to site meetings
I had a recommendation for a Lenovo X260. What is the difference between this and the Lenovo Thinkpad E560?
Are there any better laptops for same or less money? Any recommendations on where to purchase basedon customer service andsupport along with warranty?

If you're going to be running Autocad, you're going to want to spend money on a mobile workstation, not some $700 POS. You'll probably want to look into higher end models like a Dell Precision or high end Latitude (I don't know Lenovo models well).

Thanks for Advise! Id rather invest in the right Laptop now rather than have issues down the line.
 
I would go with a fast Dell Latitude. I have owed nothing but Dell laptops and all have performed well. But I did do my research. Not all Dell's are good, but their Latitude line of laptops are for business orientated usage.

If the laptop doesn't use an SSD and if it's an upgrade option, definitely go for it. Or at least buy an SSD and upgrade yourself. It's not hard to do. You can even use AOMEI Backuper or Macrium Reflect and a USB to SATA cable and clone the laptop's current operating system to the new SSD.

Just thought I'd throw that extra bit out there. I have cloned many computers like this.
