new dell monitor poor black levels?

Hi guys i got my new monitor its a dell s2316H got it on sale but i noticed the black is really poor its more like a dark grey or something not pure black i compared it with my old toshiba qosmio laptop screen and thats full black
is there something wrong with my monitor ?> like light bleeding or is this common problem with ips panels, which monitor is better for deep blacks and good colours ? the monitor looks great btw just the black annoying me a bit

also the screen goes white when u look at it from an angle above its weird i never had an ips panel before is this normal? its hard to explain but it turns really white when viewing from angle i took some pics

Grainy pictures..pretty hard to tell from them.

If you're unhappy...return it! simple!

backlight bleeding is a common problem with a lot of monitors. It doesn't look too bad in your case.

i did this contrast test http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/black.php#blacktest.png i cant see the first 3 boxes and if i look at the monitor from an angle while standing i can only see the bottom boxes is this normal?

I would talk to a Dell Rep about that. I don't think warranty covers the backlight issue bit maybe the contrast issue on viewing angles.
Again, I'd talk to a Dell Rep about it.
