2nd monitor

The second monitor doesn't have the option to select a resolution that fits the screen correctly, instead of 1080p like it should be it looks like 480p and it's distorted, please help.

Make sure video drivers are up to date. What specific monitor is it so we can find out the native resolution?

Can we get a screenshot of your resolution options and what it's showing you for the second monitor? Do you have it set to extend displays?

What's your video card? Might not support that high of resolution on two monitors. Has it worked before?

What connections are you using? If you duplicate the displays can you get both to run at 1080p?

Duplicating the displays makes it to where the first one is 1080 and the second one is cropped and distorted even more. For the first monitor im using a HDMI cable, for the second one it's hooked up using a vga cable that goes into a adapter and then into a dvi port.

I think you need to get a different cable for the second monitor. Meaning not through VGA. Card has a lower max resolution on analog (VGA) vs digital (HDMI or DVI).

Max resolutions listed on Newegg.
Digital: 4096 x 2160
Analog: 2048 x 1536

I'm probably gonna need a new monitor then, the second one only has a hdmi and vga outport and the hdmi slot on the back of the graphics card is already being used by the first monitor. Thanks for the help though :)

What connections does the first one have? There's gotta be a way to do some port/cable swapping that wouldn't require a new monitor.

Edit: Looked it up and it's 2 HDMI and 2 VGA. You can get a DVI to HDMI converter and do HDMI to HDMI for one and DVI/HDMI converter to HDMI into the other monitor. Should work.

The first one has 2 HDMI connections and 1 VGA connection. The second one has 1 VGA and 1 HDMI connection. :/
My point stands. You don't need VGA anyway, the converter plugs directly into the card and has a standard HDMI cord out.

Monitor 1 = HDMI out of video card and into HDMI on the monitor
Monitor 2 = DVI out of video card, into converter that makes it HDMI, and then HDMI into monitor.
