They still use it is my point.....
I know but I prefer to be a "good kid" and I take care of the PC as my own responsibility. It's my rig, my responsibility or burden, however you wanna put it.
Besides, taking care of my own stuff on my own feels good and its responsibility.

If that's the case then don't let anyone else use it.

If you take your parents car for a drive and it needs gas, do your parents not expect you to put gas in because you used that gas while driving the car?

It's because since it's technically MY PC, I feel better doing the repairs myself. I don't like making other people do stuff.

It has nothing to do with being a "bad kid", by asking your parents to help with the cost of the parts if they rely on that computer. It's clear you can't financially afford to repair it as it needs, so you are actually doing them a disservice by not allowing them to have a reliable computer to use.

Also, you can still do the repairs yourself...

Not sure why you guys are trying to dictate how somebody else's family works. Families are weird with weird rules that don't make sense.
I haven't read anything about odd family rules, just that the 15 year old child refuses to ask his parents to help repair the family computer, and would rather have it continue to have tons of problems.

The only real issue the PC has now is the random shutting off but it's set up to run a backup once a day and I taught my parents how to reboot the PC and get back into it if it locks up while I'm away at school.

So you don't see it being a problem that your siblings could be in the middle of a report, or parents in the middle of a presentation or something for work and have it randomly reboot, causing them to lose what they had?

The situation is probably more like this.. his parents don't feel a need to spend their money on a computer they assume hes using for games, streaming..etc cause there is no value to them.. they probably don't even use the machine, making my point even more likely.

Seriously, don't get why people are trying to make sense of or fix this situation that is beyond any of our control, let alone VCR's as he obviously would prefer them spend money on it and have it work.

Yeah, I don't really care.. none of these stories make sense to me anyhow.
