My internet is terrible, this is what i got running atm.

Pc- competitive gaming rig, streaming music, chat services, social media, twitch Wired
Media pc- livingroom movie machine (netflix and saved movies on hdd) Wired
(building a server to store movies on that will be able to stream them to this media pc and the gaming rig)

4 cell phones all with social media and family member that are constantly playing videos
2 xbox that stream netflix

I currently am running wires to all rooms in the house, house is small wifi range doesn't have to be great or fast,
I purchased modem: Netgear CM600 Gigabit cable modem,
and Netgear Prosafe 8-port Gigabit switch.
& on another note there is always atleast 1 if not 2 netflix streams on in the house plus those cell phones so looking for reliable. read reviews on the nighthawk x6's and they're kinda scary, fires and just dying a month after warranty

What kind of budget? If you want an AIO the Archer C7 are generally well regarded.

If you wanted to be more 'power user' you could get a separate Edgerouter X and UAP-AC-LITE or PRO.

Budget is gonna be around $400 and more devices will be added as time goes so power user may be the route i'm going

How fast is your internet connection?
Internet is gonna be upgraded to 30down and 5up, thats the highest available in my area

I'm looking at the edgerouters and i like the concept, a separate router and wifi device, I like this for the idea if the wifi device dies I can replace it, instead of the whole router, and i'm going to be putting internet into all the rooms anyway, so i could put the wifi device where it is needed for most signal or add where i need to, do these devices and routers setup just like any other? i'm assuming the router is normal and the device hooks up just like you would plug in a switch.

Okay after some looking I think i'm gonna go with the Edgerouter-x otherwise model ER-X and pair it with the UAP-AC-PRO, I will pair the uap directly to the Edgerouter for wifi, then plug my switch into the Edgerouter and running the wiring into the rooms as needed, if there is inadequate signal in a room i can just add another uap either pro/lite for signal using the PoE adapter, will probably be ordering everything at the end of the month.

Is that switch unmanaged or smart? I wasn't sure the specific model, was curious if it supported VLANs at all.

Sounds like a plan though, feel free to let us know if you need any configuration help with the UBNT router. I have the ERPro-8 and some other members have their APs. You might want to hang the AP off of the switch if you intend on having a flat subnet so you can forward LAN traffic via the backplane of the switch instead of through the ERX as well.

You should connect the AP to the switch, not the router as each port is a different subnet by default and you won't be able to communicate between wired and wireless clients. This would only be useful if that is your intention, otherwise it can just cause headaches if you want to stream or access devices that are a mix of wired and wireless (like using your phone to cast to your wired gaming console or smart TV).

I think the ERX has a switching ASIC and you can bridge the interfaces together for the same broadcast domain. Would still hang the AP off of the switch, however.

Yes, even the Edge Router Lite can do that, but I believe by default they are not bridged.

I am assuming the card is unmanaged as it the lowest model switch in its family, its the GS108, and i'll just run the ap off the switch, unless i do bridge it, which i'll probably end up bridging anyways just for simplicity, only reason i may not, is if i want the server and computers on their own setup, versus a guest network in the house ( a few of my brothers friends are butt munches and like to mess with stuff)
