Budget PC Build - 'Pheonix R5' - (Need Critique)

Hello, Computer Forum! I have been putting together a list of parts for a semi-budget gaming PC, and it's coming to its final stages. I am not going to buy the build until I know everything is perfect, for I know some people who have bought their parts, only to realize there were much better options.

Feel free to edit anything. The price would be cheaper if I got rid of peripherals, and I am NOT going to put in Windows illegally. I'm willing to pay the $90 price tag. Thanks! Here's the list:

I'd get a Seasonic PSU. They are great and very cheap. The S12II 620W is awesome and incredibly cheap. You probably want an aftermarket cooler too (I´m not sure how good the Wraith is). You also want a good motherboard to be capable of some nice overclocking (if you are into that), the B350s support OC but they tend to have lower phase counts. I also changed the RAM to a 2666MHz one. Do you have a specific budget?

Since your monitor is 1080p you can probably get away with the 4Gb version of the 480 and put the money into a better SSD and a nice cooler (I´m not saying it´ll pay for it all, you save around $50 if you go down that road).

Get a Samsung 850 evo SSD, the one you chose will take 1 to 2 months to ship from Amazon.
I recommend getting a Western Digital 2tb drive instead of Hitachi. The drive you piced is generations old. You want a 64mb cache drive.
Get this EVGA fully modular psu. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438026&ignorebbr=1
Thanks! The problem is, the Samsung 850 Evo is significantly higher in price. I will find another one. Also, what makes Hitachi old? Many good builds use it, and it runs at 7200 rpm. I see what you mean about the cache though.

It has an old SATA interface (SATA 3Gb/s, the newest is 6Gb/s) and only 32Mb cache.

The updated build. Thanks :) Did I miss anything? (changed the link, wrong one). The above link is the new one, not sure if you can see edits

Still missed a bunch of stuff like the motherboard, cooler and GPU. I´m not saying your build is bad, I jsut do not know what kind of user you are and your budget.
I like my GPU, and the motherboard is a Ryzen specialty. Its highly recommended for Ryzen chips. They said the cooler is good, but I'll probably find another one. My budget is supposed to be under $1200. Thanks :)

I know, the GPU is good, but it is the 8Gb version. you won´t use that much VRAM since you are gaming on 1080p. You can save some cash if you get the 4Gb version and get exactly the same FPS.

About the motherboard, it may not be the best for OC, since it seems to have a 6+2 power phase.

So if I get the 4gb version I can still run a few programs with the same FPS as if I had the 8gb, until I use over that 4gb?

Yes. Very unlikely. Even on the newest games with high AA settings you won't use more than 3Gb(on 1080p).

I do not recommend less than 6GB at this point for future proofing purposes if you want to run ultra textures at 1440p>> someday.

G1 sux bro. I'm shocked you would suggest it. G2/P2/T2/GQ are the EVGA units you want.
According to you all psu's suck except for the ones you recommend. Jesus Christ, what facts do you go off of??? I mean we aren't recommending top of the line units here. You want a good unit but don't need to get out of hand.

I don't like the cut of your jib lately, sir.

Here is a great resource, of people ("hired" by jonnyguru) that put together a list based on his reviews. Very useful since his site is such a mess.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qaSSCWjC11ArO8WyBb_wTvFU_Ez9488F6ARkbag1e14/edit#gid=0

Also this site is recommended by jonnyguru himself. This guys put toghether a master list with all his "recommended" PSUs, and with other sites that make good reviews of PSUs. Bear in mind that the ones listed there are the recommended. It´s not an icomplete list. If you open each brand you can see the scores he gave, among other reviewers of the rest of the models from each brand.

This links should probably be stickied @johnb35
