CPU Cooler died on my HP computer

Computer is less than a year old. HO can fix under warranty but it will take 2 weeks and they will wipe the system back to stock.

I think for as cheap as a cooler is I am just going to buy one and put it on. Is this an acceptable/compatible choice?

my HP model is a Pavillion510-Po26 which has the low wattage I5-6400t processor (35w)

There is 100% zero reason for them to do that.

The cooler you listed should work, as long as it has compatibility for that socket really anything should work if it physically fits, 35w TDP is very low and would be facilitated by pretty much any cooler.

Why they would need to wipe out your computer to install a new cooler is baffling.

I'd say yeah, go ahead and grab one and install yourself - however, I'm not certain whether pre-builts (HP, DELL...etc) use any sort of proprietary nonsense with there mounting holes on the mobo.
