My Specs:
- The HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200rpm 64MB
- (Power supply): Corsair RM650x 650W
- (Graphics Card): MSI GeForce GTX 1080 8GB Gaming X
- (SSD): Samsung 960 EVO 250GB
- (Motherboard): msi z270 gaming pro carbon
- Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
- Intel Core i5 7600K 3.8 GHz 6MB
- Corsair 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 2133MHz CL13 Vengeance LPX Series
- ASUS DVD±RW DRW-24D5M
- Windows 10 Home
- (Case): Deepcool Tesseract ATX Svart/Blå LED

Soo, I built my own PC for the first time a couple of weeks ago.
But the HDD I got is not showing ANYWHERE (2tb).
It's not showing in BIOS or disk management.

But, I've tried other HDD's I have access to. One is working and I'm using it right now, a 300gb HDD.
The same thing happened to the other HDD's that I tried, couldn't see them anywhere. Just this one could be recognized.

Has is it something to do with the Power Supply? Too low? 'cause I'm really stuck here.

Thank you in advance!

Power supply is plenty for your system. Could be a loose cable most.likely. can you hear the hdd spin up for the one that it doesn't recognize?

Ok, thank you! That's very helpful! Then I know It's not the power supply, and I can try switching some cables. Not sure if I got you on the last sentence there, but I'm pretty sure I can hear the disc spin on the not-working HDD, they're going like crazee

Then check the sata data cable. Which sata ports are you using? The side ones or the 2 on top? Try using the side ones as those are your main connectors.

Seagate 2Tb...hmmm..... let me guess... model is ST2000DM001? If so, I wouldn't be surprised if the drive is already dead. Major failure rates with those.

I think I've tried all the ports, but I'll make sure to use the side ones, thank you very much!

Model is "ST2000DM006" ! But I guess, if one model is known for issues, the others isn't far behind in failure-rate. I'll try to return my drive! Thanks a lot!

The DM006 series is very new, so I can't really speak as to their failure rates yet. Haven't seen too many come in for recovery, but a few years time will tell.

Seagate drives have been real junk as of late. I know there are guys on here who will argue me on that, but it's been statistically shown to be true. Even proven in court lately. Years ago, they made great drives. I'd still trust an old 40Gb Seagate. But their 3Tb drives, not a chance.

My advice would be to replace it with a Toshiba or HGST brand drive as the replacement.

Thanks a lot! Guess they'll continue to make shitty drives... Have talked to the support from where I bought the drive and I have packed my Drive and will send it back!
