not sure if this is the correct thread. I have a question. So I work from home with a USB stick.right now.. I have to turn my computer off and back on for the USB to load the custom operating system it runs or whatever. I was wondering if I could have my system on in the back ground while I loud up my work system?

I'm wondering if I can download something so when I'm on my computer now. I can open the usb with my other work system and have my original windows 10 in the background so I can use both at the same time

Elaborate it may be but it is a very common way for companies to give work to do at home in this way. The reason is security. It means that your work stuff isn't touching your computer or the operating system. if it goes on the internet it would go on via a VPN set up by the company. As far as I know there isn't any way you can use the USB stick whilst your home OS is running. Obviously I do not know what operating system is on that stick but whatever it is it boots your computer before Windows even starts. If you think about it booting the stick whilst your Windows is running would negate any security benefits your company gains from giving you the data to work from home. I think the best people to ask would be your IT department.

It's called Rave I think. It's not really about security. They use it so you can't access internet. They only have your specific email and it has a voip integrated and that's about it. Maybe I can install VMware virtual machine. And see if it works.?

The host OS on the USB stick likely doesn't permit you to run VMs. You could probably mount the USB stick inside of a VM on your host OS then you could run that work container inside of your computer's main OS but I'd probably check with your company policy before doing anything that might raise questions.

He was asking for OP to elaborate upon what was originally posted, as it was very vague, not that it was an elaborate deployment. WOOOSHH
