Is Fortnite battle-royale a safe game to download?

I am not a gamer and don;t know anything about them.

My grandson wants to download Fortnite battle-royale from epicgames and I’m just so worried about viruses and malware that I want to check if I’m going to have a problem.

You pretty much will never get viruses from games unless you're downloading illegally pirated games. Something like that hosted by the publisher/developer, you're totally fine.

So I just did a google search to see if "epicgames" is OK and from what I gather, it is so I'm going to let him play the game.
