Good LGA 1151 Motherboard for 6700K between $80-$250?

Looking for a Good LGA 1151 Motherboard for 6700K between $80-$250?

Not trying to Overclock just yet, just want something that will work, could care less if it looks great.

Currently using a Gigabyte G1 Gaming 7 and its nothing but problems with the default Voltages (No Overclock) and Temperatures.

Using a Cryorig M9i my temps get close to 80c just from gaming at stock voltage, there is something wrong with it and I am tired of trying to fix it. I have to Undervolt just to get regular temperatures. So I am looking for a new motherboard to replace this one.

Price is between $80 to $250 because If Amazon or Newegg sells it for $250 I might find it for way less on eBay so its why the budget is so open.

Thanks all!

Don't think you'll fix it with a mobo swap. The 6700k looks like it reaches those temps with an air cooler at load. http://www.digitalstorm.com/unlocked/intel-6700k-overclocking-review-and-benchmarks-idnum366/

The only real fix would probably be a delid. The stock TIM material between the die and IHS is pretty trash.

Appreciate your feedback. I am however not using Intel Stock Cooler I am using a Cryorig M9i and that isn't the case according to Benchmark reviews on my Cooler with the 6700k. This link is to one of them.
https://www.hardwareslave.com/reviews/cooling/cryorig-m9i-intel-cpu-cooler-review/5/

I agree that delid is a great alternative but I feel there has to be a solution for this. HWMonitor says MoBo is reading Voltage right, I am currently sitting at Vcore of 1.236v which seems Pretty normal for i7 6700K Stock (Right?)

If I run Real Bench for 15 minutes I got 80c I understand its a stress test and its meant to do that, but if I Undervolt by a negative offset of -0.65 my Temperatures drop down to about 73c-74c which is quiet significant. Problem is that it comes at a price of potential BOSD due to Vcrore voltages error reading on the CPU (According to event log and Google).

I know the Cryorig m9i isn't great, I don't want to buy a new cooler, because I don't know yet how to Overclock, I just want to have a functioning machine without having to Undervolt for lower temperatures, and BOSD.

Have you tried reseating your cooler and reapplying the thermal paste on it?

Typically, the motherboard isn't the issue when it comes to the CPU overheating, unless you're putting more voltage than required to run the frequencies, but this shouldn't be the issue if everything's stock. I believe the stock voltage is 1.2v If you're not BSOD'ing when running lower voltages at the stock frequencies, I'd do it. There's really no harm to it and would represent that you've got a good chip that can run the stock speeds with less power and heat. Never a bad thing.
because I don't know yet how to Overclock
It's literally increasing the multiplier until your CPU either reaches unsafe voltages to boot, or generates too much heat and your cooling solution can't handle it.

Well, I understand and it makes sense but don't you think that 74c on Madden 2019 @stock Voltages is too hot? same with Rainbow 6 Siege, 72c
Unless this okay then I should have nothing to worry about then.

Well 72 degrees is well under the max temperature before it thermal throttles to protect itself (usually ~100 degrees Celsius).

Are you running the latest Bios revision for the board? Latest bios version should be F22m for your board.

Yes sir! sure am, updated the BIOS to F22m almost as soon as it came out. I can't figure it out. You'd think the Vcore was high at stock voltage and that's why I am getting Higher temperatures but its not. I spoke with a friend yesterday and told him about my issue and he said its a known issue with this Motherboard and others have reported the same problem. The question is how can I fix it? dang....

I read my self yesterday also several people complaining of higher temperatures with the newer BIOS as well, some said a difference of almost 10c at Stock Voltages. So I wondered if Flashing (Downgrading) The BIOS to an older version might fix the problem? Problem with that is that I could brick my board. Still very tempted to downgrade BIOS, there is a way to do it, just wonder if it will fix the problem. I'll keep looking.

Could be a conservative setting for that board. Try v1.2

If you really feel that is the case, then you should look into a new board. You can look into the Z270 or Z170. The Z370 is not compatible with the 6700k.

It is possible. The latest bios probably involved fixes to spectre/meltdown that may be the culprit.

If that is the case, you'd have to find a bios chip online and replace it.

Don't see why you shouldn't try all your options before spending money on something and find out it doesn't help your cause and you're back to square one.

Thank you! will keep these things in mind.
