What is that round thing , that I see some people have on the back of their cell phone for ? Is it to be able to get a better grip when they are holding the phone ?

I believe it is called a pop-socket or something. I see kids with it in my high school all the time. Personally I think they look weird...

They function as both a stand and just as a handle. I see a lot of younger people with them, especially on iPhones.

That would be super awkward to have on a phone while it's in your pocket. I always wear cargo pants/shorts so I utilize my pockets.
