I don't think anyone can give you a definite answer of which is better. People can give you their own opinion of which is better. I personally think Dell gives more value for your money so have purchased more from Dell than HP.

Dell is better than HP by almost any metric. HP is a dumpster fire, I don't know how they function as a company. Had so many problems with them at work and in personal experience.
