If there is Power Blackout in Area but Wireless Router is on Solar Generator Will I Get Internet?

Let me clarify. I live in an apartment building where the various Internet Companies have their cables powered out of 1 Locked Boxed Area. I am on ATT U verse DSL. I am connected in my apartment by a Router/Modem. I recently bought a portable electric generator that stores 6 hour of electricity.

Should the power go out in my neighborhood (which happens for short periods of time several times a year) and I connect my router/modem to my portable emergency power, will I still be able to get the internet during the outage through ATT U Verse (assuming they are operating) or will it not matter because the Cable Power Box for the Building is still powerless? I apologize if this is sounding convoluted.

AttUverse isn't powered by the building. Phone lines come into the building and get branched off to all the apartments. Doesn't require power. They used to provide small power backup units years ago for when power outages happen. They were gray boxes about the size of regular cable modem.

Thanks I just got the generator (Less than $250 on Amazon) & will try this next time power goes out.

It depends if the local office on the isp side experiences the same outage.

If the dsl phone line goes straight to your unit then you should be alright.

Also keep in mind you could get the same effect with an inexpensive ups.

UPS? What is that other than package delivery service?
